  • How long will it take to see results?

    This is very individual. If you start attending therapy, you have already completed a comprehensive examination, after which the results should already be visible. Therapy will further support the whole process, but it does not replace the work that needs to be done at home during daily eating.

  • We live outside of Prague, what is the difference between the examination at your place and online?

    If you arrive at the Škola papání office, we will make you a good coffee. The process and the information obtained are identical.

  • Can examinations and therapies be covered by public health care?

    Unfortunately, it is not possible, Škola papání currently does not have a contract with any insurance company. However, it is possible to ask foundations and funds for a contribution or financing.

  • The doctors have recommended a probe, but we don’t agree. Can you give us a second opinion?

    In this case, it is necessary to do a comprehensive examination and evaluate the child’s skills and caloric intake. We often encounter a situation where a child is so weakened by insufficient income that he is unable to advance in skills. In this case, the probe is completely in place. But of course, if it is possible to manage without her, we will try to do our best.

  • How does therapy work?

    The therapy lasts 45 minutes, followed by a 5-minute interview with the parents (if they are not participating in the therapy). Many children work better together without their parents present, but we always try to at least film or take photos of the therapy for the parents.

    The therapy takes place in the form of a game with food. As a rule, we work on building a relationship with food and skills associated with food, i.e. handling food and processing food in the mouth. We also work in general on the sensory system and table manners.

    The first goal of therapy is to establish a relationship between the child and the therapist. The child must gain trust in him and only then can they devote themselves to eating together. The time to establish a relationship depends on the adaptation of the child and the degree of their anxiety about food may take several therapies.

     

  • I can’t decide whether to make an appointment or purchase one of the online programs. What is the difference?

    If your child is significantly behind in food-related skills, has health problems related to food intake or is not thriving properly, it would be more appropriate to choose an examination. If you are “just fighting” at the family table, it is probably better to choose a suitable online program. After completing the online program, you can always order a one-time consultation, in which we can discuss specific questions or difficulties that you encountered during the program together.

  • On the website you have the option of a home visit, do you also travel outside of Prague?

    Yes, but home visits are very time-consuming, so we can’t do many of them in a week. It depends on the current capacity and time options.

  • If I make an appointment, am I guaranteed a place for follow-up therapy?

    Only about 30% of children who come for an examination proceed immediately to therapy. We only access therapy when it is necessary. In general, we try to support parents to manage the situation at home. Without the need to expose the child to further visits to the medical facility.

  • Is it necessary to have an examination?

    It is possible to order directly for a one-time consultation. But a consultation will never replace an examination. As part of the examination, a home video is evaluated, on which the therapist often sees things that the parent does not even realize. It also includes a nutritional evaluation of the menu and a therapeutic plan. However, if you are not sure whether to order an examination or not, we can agree on this together in a one-time consultation.

  • I was recommended clinical speech therapy, but a friend recommended you. Does it matter where I go?

    Škola papání currently does not have its own clinical speech therapist and does not replace this care. We look at eating disorders comprehensively, so of course we also focus on the function of the mouth. In most cases, together with the parents, we agree with a speech therapist at their place of residence, with whom we then communicate for unification and continuity of care.

  • For how old children are the programs suitable?

    Online programs of Škola papání are currently suitable for children from birth to three years. We will add other age categories gradually. Our goal is to cover information for all ages of children.

  • How are the programs conducted?

    You browse the online programs yourself according to your time options. In the programs, you will find a lot of interesting and important information and instructions, as well as accompanying photos, which you will especially appreciate when choosing tools, as well as videos that will present essential information and procedures even better.

  • How long after purchase will I have access to the Program?

    You don’t have to worry about not having enough time to complete the Program. You have access to it for the whole year and you can save or print the accompanying documents and information cards.

    If you do not find the answer to your question in the Program, you have the opportunity to ask our experts directly through the Q&A section at the end of each program.

  • Is it possible to watch the Programme on a mobile device?

    Yes, our programs are optimized for mobile devices, allowing you to browse their content conveniently even on your phone or tablet.

  • I don’t know what program is right for me.

  • What payment methods can I use for your products?

    You can pay for online programs and seminars by credit card, through the Benefit Plus benefit program, or we can issue you an invoice. If you would like to use the benefits or issue an invoice, contact us by e-mail. The service will be available to you after payment of the invoice.

  • How do I register for the online seminar?

    To register for the seminar, use our reservation system, where you reserve a place and make a payment. On the day of the seminar, you will receive a link to the Zoom platform in your e-mail, where you can simply log in at the start time by clicking on the link.

  • Can I ask a question during the online seminar?

    Yes, within the seminar, there is a space dedicated to questions. However, if you want to solve a specific problem, we recommend ordering a one-time consultation, where we will have more time to discuss your problem in detail.

  • What if I can’t attend an online seminar at the last minute?

    In case you can’t attend, that’s okay. After the seminar you will be given access to the recording for 2 weeks.

  • How are the online seminars conducted?

    Seminars take place online via the Zoom platform.

  • What payment methods can we use for seminars and workshops?

    You can pay by credit card when booking, through the Benefit Plus benefit program or we can issue you an invoice. If you would like to take advantage of the benefits or issue an invoice, please contact us by email. Your place will be reserved after payment of the invoice.
